Healing for the Broken

Writer's picture: Kristen GoochKristen Gooch

There will be times in which you are serving, working, giving, being a friend, living life and even ministering to others while you yourself have a broken, or even shattered heart.

You asked God to send you to the brokenhearted but you find yourself in need of healing and restoration as well.

Maybe you suffered a loss or experienced a setback concerning a friend, a dream, your physical health, finances, a romantic relationship, or an aspect of your purpose and calling.

Maybe you were supposed to walk on water with others by your side but they failed to step out of the boat. Maybe you were supposed to finish a project as a team but it fell apart because people walked away. Maybe someone tried to use you for their own promotion, their own agenda, their own kingdom.

Maybe someone made a promise (or many promises) that they weren’t able to keep. Maybe someone close to you didn’t reciprocate the same level of understanding, transparency and respect that you tried to offer. Maybe you were supposed to see a different outcome but things didn’t happen the way you were expecting them to.

Maybe words were exchanged or maybe they were bottled up. Maybe bridges were burned. Maybe you were left with no explanation while attempting to repair or maintain the project or relationship. Maybe confrontation and conflict arose. Maybe you tried to “pretend peace” which actually made things worse. Regardless of how it was handled, something about the situation resulted in heartbreak, in brokenness, in pain.

But by faith, you can see God turn that heartbreak into a victory. In fact, He will take your pain, heal your heart and use your story to impact someone else who needs healing, restoration, forgiveness and reconciliation.

Don’t let a broken heart keep you from serving God. Don’t let disappointment or betrayal keep you from opening your heart to receive. Don’t let what didn’t work out keep you from stepping out in faith and fulfilling your purpose.

Cry out to the Lord in faith and He will do what He does best…

“He heals the wounds of every shattered heart.” Psalm 147:3 TPT
